Novak Djokovic is trying to \u2018cheat nature\u2019 in order to surpass Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal\u2019s record for the longest careers in tennis, according to former tennis star Nikolay Davydenko.<\/p>\n

Of tennis\u2019 big three, Djokovic is the only player still active on the Tour, with Nadal having joined Federer in retirement earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The Serb already has the most Grand Slam wins of any male player in history, boasting 24 titles to his name, compared to Federer\u2019s 20 and Nadal\u2019s 22.<\/p>\n

However, according to Davydenko, Djokovic has his sights set on a different record before hanging up his racket.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Speaking to Match TV, he stated: \u201cHe\u2019s trying to cheat nature. We\u2019ll see if he succeeds.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe he wants to surpass Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal\u2019s record for longest career.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoger finished at 41, maybe Novak wants to reach that age. Maybe he\u2019ll play fewer tournaments.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Davydenko isn\u2019t convinced Djokovic\u2019s iron-man attempts are having the desired impact right now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ahead of the 2025 season, Djokovic has added former foe Andy Murray to his coaching ranks, with the pair\u2019s first task next month\u2019s Australian Open.<\/p>\n

And according to ex-pro Brad Gilbert, bringing in Murray could be the extra motivation boost Djokovic needs.<\/p>\n

He told the official APT website: \u201cI kind of sensed that Novak was going to do something. You didn\u2019t know what he was going to do, but you kind of sensed that he probably needed something, and something to motivate him. And obviously he goes way back with Andy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
