Novak Djokovic attends a press conference
Novak Djokovic has tackled the difficult task of naming the four greatest accomplishments of his staggering career.
The legendary Serbian holds the vast majority of the most significant records in the history of men’s tennis.
Djokovic has won the most men’s Grand Slam titles (24), the most Masters 1000 titles (40), the most ATP Finals titles (seven), while he has finished the most seasons as the ATP world No 1 (eight) and spent a record 428 weeks on top of the rankings.
The 37-year-old became only man to win every ‘big title’ in singles with his gold medal triumph at the Paris Olympics in August. His Olympic victory was his only title of 2024 and 99th singles title overall.
Djokovic selected his four standout achievements, starting with his astonishing 43-match winning streak that started in December 2010 and ended in June 2011.
“The first one was a 43-match winning streak in early 2011. That wasn’t my goal,” Djokovic told Sportklub.
“I felt good because I had finished the previous season in the best possible way, winning the Davis Cup for Serbia. That gave me a lot of confidence for 2011.

Novak Djokovic’s plan for 2025 may be flawed, claims former Wimbledon champion
“I started the season by winning the Australian Open and that started the streak. I kept winning and winning, and the more I won, the better I felt on the court. I didn’t care who was on the other side of the net. It was a phenomenal feeling that can only happen once.
“The second achievement was when I won four consecutive Grand Slams in 2015–2016. I always dreamed of winning Wimbledon and becoming world number one.
“When I did that, I asked myself: what’s my next dream? At that time, I wanted to win as many Grand Slams as possible, including Roland Garros, which I had not yet won.
“The third feat was defeating Roger Federer in the 2019 Wimbledon final. The final was very intense, probably the most intense match I have ever played. I could add the Australian Open final with Rafael Nadal in 2012.
“The fourth was winning my 23rd Grand Slam title at Roland Garros 2023, after which I became the record holder.”
In August, Djokovic described claiming his maiden Olympic gold at his fifth Games as his “greatest sports achievement.”
“The long-awaited gold. I entered these Olympics without a trophy, I had an injury. Many questioned the quality of my tennis. Few people considered me a favourite, but I secretly believed,” he told a massive crowd gathered in Belgrade to celebrate Serbia’s Olympians.
“I knew this might be my last chance to win gold. It was one of my best tournaments; I didn’t lose a set. I felt the support of the people.
“If there was ever a moment, it was now. Without false modesty, this is my greatest sports achievement, and I proudly carry this gold for Serbia.”
