LeBron James added another chapter to the annals of NBA history by becoming the oldest player to record three consecutive triple-doubles. James recorded this feat in the Los Angeles Lakers 128-123 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown LA.

Following the game, Lakers head coach JJ Redick had some major praise for his franchise superstar. On Wednesday, James recorded 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists to lead the way against a Grizzlies team without Ja Morant.

Although the game was devoid of the drama that Morant’s presence would have brought, James’ big night was more than enough to keep fans enthralled. Addressing the media in his postgame conference, JJ Redick had nothing but praise for James’ ‘mastery’ of the game.

Redick had high praise for his superstar, calling him a ‘master’ of the game. Redick spoke about a number of set plays, and out-of-timeout plays that the team had run.

As he described the plays, Redick spoke about LeBron James adapting to different coverages from the Grizzlies defense, improvising the Lakers’ set plays to find shots for himself and his teammates. Redick did, however, extend praise to the rest of the Lakers roster as well.

The team found themselves in trouble after Anthony Davis was in foul trouble early in the second half. As Davis headed to the bench, the Lakers bench boosted James’ play, with rookie Dalton Knecht putting in 8 points and backup big Christian Koloko providing some solid minutes off the bench.

Even though the Lakers pulled off a victory on Wednesday night, it wasn’t smooth sailing all the way through. As the first quarter drew to a close, LeBron James hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer from 30 feet away.

As James walked back to the bench with rookie Dalton Knecht, Lakers Coach JJ Redick stopped the two with an earful for an apparent miscommunication on defense. He stopped James as he headed to the bench, to talk about a missed coverage on the defensive end which allowed the Grizzlies to score an easy basket.

James, however, did not seem to be in the mood to talk about the incident. As Redick spoke to James and Knecht, the Lakers superstar started to walk away in the middle of the conversation. Thankfully for Lakers fans, no harm was done.
