LeBron James might retire at the end of next season with the possibility of playing with second son, Bryce James.
LeBron James
LeBron James is never going to hoop forever, even though he looks like he could. However, he is inching closer to the end of his remarkable career. He recently delivered a stellar performance against the Memphis Grizzlies, where he scored 35 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and dished out 14 assists to help secure a 128–123 victory.
On a recent episode of First Take, ESPN’s Shams Charania recently discussed James’ remarkable longevity and hinted at a potential timeline for his retirement. Despite his age, LeBron James has put up performances that remains at a high level, while also keeping the Lakers in contention in the Western Conference.
“My sense is next season could potentially be his last season in the NBA. … Maybe Bryce James keeps him around an extra year or two.”

This season, he has maintained impressive stats that include averages of 24.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 9.4 assists per game in his 22nd NBA season. And with his son Bryce still in high school but potentially entering the NBA within two years, the King’s retirement timeline seems very uncertain.
To the fans, Bryce’s trajectory brings hope that the four-time NBA champion could remain in the league long enough to share the court with him. Another chance to make history beckons.
LeBron James puts rivalry aside as he shows support for ailing Gregg Popovich
After he led the Los Angeles Lakers to a thrilling win over the Memphis Grizzlies, LeBron James’s thoughts shifted to San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who recently stepped away from the team indefinitely after suffering a mild stroke. James expressed concern for Popovich’s well-being, ahead of meeting between the Lakers and Spurs in NBA Cup play.

James and Popovich have a storied competitive history, as they’ve faced off three times in the NBA Finals over the course of Popovich’s 29-season tenure. However, their mutual respect and admiration has transcended the rivalry.
Popovich is expected to make a full recovery, but there is no timetable for his return to coaching. As the Lakers prepare to face the Spurs on Friday, James like every other lover of the game out there can’t wait to have Coach Pop back on the touchline.
