Jerry Jones is counting on the Cowboys to win the rest of the games the team has left on its schedule.

The Dallas Cowboys are not going to be making the playoffs this season. After a tough loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the team will hope to play out the rest of its schedule and look to make improvements for the subsequent season.
Logically, in these cases, teams would choose to rest their starters and put the backups in to protect them from the risk of injury and to improve the odds of the franchise’s position in the draft. However, Jerry Jones loves to defy logic. The Owner and GM of the Dallas Cowboys does not want the franchise to tank.
In his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jones stated that the team will not compromise on winning despite missing the playoffs.
We want everybody making the plays and having the opportunity to have success. Success is very important… We’ll go out there and win every down.

The Cowboys GM asserted that ‘success’ is very important for his team, though one can speculate how much of such is up for grabs for the side in the current season. His mentality is laudable but unfortunately, it may not be the best move for the team.

This is because there is no point in risking injuries to the team’s existing stars. In addition to this, Jerry Jones should be attempting to position the Cowboys in the best possible situation in the draft.
