However, on Thursday, while playing for the South Bay Lakers, he silenced critics by setting a career-high in points. In his first G-League road game, James, the eldest son of Lakers star LeBron James, scored 30 points on 13-of-23 shooting, despite South Bay’s 106-100 loss to the Valley Suns.
This sent the NBA fans into a frenzy, especially the Lakers fanbase. One fan wrote on X, “Haters are in shambles.” James has averaged 14 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in the G League thus far this season.
This season in the NBA, James Jr. has participated in seven games for the Lakers before moving to the G-League.
