Kansas City beat the Denver Broncos 16-14 at home in Week 10 in thrilling fashion thanks to a blocked field goal attempt with time expiring.

However, the Chiefs received disappointing results from rookie left tackle Kingsley Suamataia.

The 21-year-old Suamataia had filled in for injured teammate Wanya Morris in the second and third quarters, allowing four pressures to Denver’s Nik Bonitto, per NFL Next Gen Stats.

Morris did return in the fourth quarter after suffering a knee injury, but the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champion squad revealed a potential depth weakness at the position.

During a press conference on Monday, Reid was asked about adding an outside free agent and he revealed that general manager Brett Veach will make a final decision on that front.

“He looks at everything. I’m not going to say, ‘No,'” Reid said of a potential signing of a left tackle, per The Kansas City Star.

“But what we do as coaches — and we’ve overemphasized — we’re going to focus in on these kids that are here.”

Reid did reveal a promising injury update on Morris on Monday, saying that the second-year player would “end up being OK when it’s all said and down here as far as his leg goes.”

Morris was out of Sunday’s game for a little over 30 game minutes after he had his knee rolled up on by a Broncos defender.

Kansas City could look to sign a familiar face in 31-year-old Donovan Smith, who played left tackle for the team last season and remains a free agent.

The Chiefs could also sign former Green Bay Packers All-Pro David Bakhtiari, who’s 33 years old and remains unsigned.

Reid did provide confidence in his young offensive linemen despite the

“They’re getting better. I know it’s hard to see at times, but there’s progress being made,” Reid said.

“We’re going to be OK as we go forward.”

Kansas City moved to 9-0 after the latest Arrowhead win.

They will face the Buffalo Bills next week and Reid was asked in Sunday’s postgame conference what his message to the team was.

“There’s not much you can say,” he admitted. “The game told the story.

“I haven’t been around a lot of those walk-off blocks.

“I’m going to enjoy it, but I’m also going to work to fix the other things we need to fix before Buffalo.

“You enjoy every one of these the best you possibly can because it’s tough in this league.”
