As previously discussed on Gridiron Heroics, the Baltimore Ravens suspended disgruntled wide receiver Diontae Johnson for Week 15 against the New York Giants for conduct detrimental to the team. The Ravens decided to suspend Johnson because he refused to play in Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles after Rashod Bateman exited the second half with a knee injury. The team didn’t skip a beat and blew out the Giants 35-14, as Lamar Jackson had a phenomenal game, passing for 290 yards and five touchdowns through the air.
The 9-5 Ravens will host the 10-4 Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday afternoon for a pivotal rematch from Week 11. The last time these two teams met, the Steelers defeated the Ravens 18-16. Saturday would have also been a perfect revenge game for Johnson, who spent the first five years in Pittsburgh.
The Baltimore Ravens WR’s revenge game appears to be put on hold

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Ravens front office released a statement a little while ago that Diontae Johnson and the team have mutually agreed to excuse him from team activities this week. This means that Johnson will likely miss Saturday’s afternoon game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which happens to be a pivotal game and could ultimately decide the winner of the AFC North Division.
