Week 17 will officially start after the “Monday Night Football” game between the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints.
Of course, at that point, there will be only two more full weeks of the regular season, which means not much more time for players to make their MVP case.
One player clearly in the running is Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
During a press conference on Monday, Jackson was asked about his thoughts on possibly winning MVP.
“If it do happen, it happens,” he said. “That would be dope [to win it] three times.”
“I’m trying to win a championship… That’s been my goal since I was a little kid. But MVP in the national football league? That’s dope. That’s dope,” he added.
As of now, though, the odds are not in his favor as ESPN BET has Bills quarterback Josh Allen as the favorite at -500, with Jackson a good amount behind at +375.
Based on his numbers this season, there’s no doubt that he deserves to be a part of the conversation.
