The first two NFL games on Christmas Day were both lopsided affairs. The first one was the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers, 29-10, in Pittsburgh.
The second one was the Baltimore Ravens crushing the Houston Texas, 31-2, in Houston.
Both home teams lost in ugly fashion on Christmas Day, and both games were matchups of AFC playoff teams.
In the afternoon game, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson once again dazzled. He finished the game with 168 yards passing with two scores while rushing for 87 yards and another touchdown, a 48-yard scamper at the start of the third quarter.
In the process, Jackson became the all-time leading rusher in the NFL for quarterbacks, passing the record previously held by Michael Vick.
After the game, fans had the same thought: Jackson is running away with the NFL MVP award.
“Lamar Jackson just secured the MVP,” one fan wrote with a video of Jackson’s touchdown run.
“It’s over Wrap it up Lamar Jackson is the MVP,” another said.
“I’m sorry if you guys had your minds made up… but Lamar Jackson is the 2024 NFL MVP!!! What a performance!!!!” another stated.
“Say hello to 3x MVP Lamar Jackson!” former NFL wide receiver Torrey Smith wrote.
“With all due respect to Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson is the MVP. Guy is having a historically great season,” said another.
“Lamar Jackson is the MVP You can manufacture whatever Josh Allen narrative you want but the truth is inevitable,” another mentioned.
Entering Christmas week, the NFL MVP debate has been between two players: Jackson and Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen.
Allen has 26 passing touchdowns and 3,549 yards with another 514 yards rushing and five scores on the ground.
Heading into Thursday, Jackson had a total of 3,787 passing yards with 37 touchdowns along with 765 yards rushing and three scores.
But, after a magnificent performance on Christmas Day, fans are pounding the table for the Ravens QB to win his third NFL MVP award.
