FRISCO – Beyoncé put on a show for NFL fans on Christmas Day as the iconic Grammy winner staged a much-watched performance during halftime of the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game.
The 43-year-old singer dazzled the audience at NRG Stadium in Houston along with millions who tuned in on Netflix.
The show featured many of her legendary hit songs but also highlighted her “Cowboy Carter” work with tunes like “Jolene” and “Texas Hold ‘Em.”
In addition to her and Jay-Z’s 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy performing, Beyoncé was also joined on stage by fellow artists Shaboozey and well-known Dallas Cowboys fan Post Malone.
As the “Crazy in Love” singer was about to finish her halftime performance, NFL fans were witness to what some are calling a “bold gesture” from Beyoncé.
With dramatic flair she aimed a finger gun gesture as the banner behind her unfurled to reveal the word “Bang.”
The moment left many observers pointing out an Irony of sorts as that same “gun” gesture is not allowed when it comes to the NFL’s own players.
But this we are sure of when it comes to Beyoncé – who was reportedly paid $20 million for her 13-minute show: The gesture was absolutely intended to spark debate.
And in that sense, the spectacular show paid off in every possible way.
Meanwhile, Jerry Jones’ Cowboys are prepping to put on their own show as they play at the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, one of the many things we kick around in the Fish Report!
