Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James is one of the most interesting people, not just in basketball but in all of sports. Among the many things one should know about the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player, especially off the court, is that he is a big fan of the video game “Madden.”
James loves football and its virtual counterpart, and Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht can definitely attest to that.
“How much he loves to play Madden,” the former Tennessee Volunteers star said when asked about what he’s learned from James (h/t Dave McMenamin of ESPN).
“He always talks about [it]… I didn’t really know it was that much. He watches it on the plane and stuff. He watches film just like it’s basketball. It’s crazy,” Knecht added.
Knecht did not mention it, but James also seems to be great at playing Madden as well. In fact, the future Basketball Hall of Famer once flexed on social media his inclusion in Madden 25’s top 100 ranked players.
As for the Lakers’ journey in the 2024-25 NBA season, James and company have a 17-13 record after beating the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day, 115-113. Up next for Los Angeles is a date with the Sacramento Kings this Saturday at crypto.com Arena in LA.
