After an unexpectedly great start to the season, the Golden State Warriors are now seeing it all come down like a house of cards. They are on a 3-11 run which has left them 10th in the West. They were sitting cozy at the top of the table not too long ago.
It is clear that some things need to change. Stephen Curry needs some help and even he is now starting to show signs of slowing down.
The Warriors have been heavily linked with a move for Jimmy Butler in recent times but he is not the only veteran that the franchise appear to have their eyes on. It looks like they have their sights on an in-form Chicago Bulls player as well.
According to Evan Sidery, the Warriors have recently checked in with the Bulls on Nikola Vucevic. Golden State has the necessary expiring salaries and draft capital to make a potential deal work with Chicago.
Vucevic has surprised many with his start to the 2024-25 season. For the last few years, it had looked like his game was declining but his output this time around has been some of the best of his career.
This season, Vucevic is averaging 20.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 58.1% from the field and 45.6% from three-point range.
So, it is not hard to see why the Warriors might be interested in someone like Vucevic. And realistically, the Bulls cannot expect too much in return when it comes to a trade.
The trade market for Vucevic in the summer was believed to be non-existent but he has most certainly played his way onto the radar of teams around the league.
