Warriors star Draymond Green sounded off on his newest teammate Buddy Hield in their recent matchup against the Suns.
Draymond Green and Buddy Hield
The Golden State Warriors’ recent matchup against the Phoenix Suns was well and truly an action-packed game. However, what caught the attention of many NBA fans was the sight of Draymond Green scolding his teammate for being ‘too lethargic’ in the match. Green is known for his wild nature in and around the game.
Given the team’s lackluster performance in recent weeks, it might be a wake up call. Several faces have been on the receiving end; this time, it was Buddy Hield, the newest squad member from the Bay Area. In the middle of another drab game against the Phoenix Suns tonight, Green’s words were caught in the courtside mic.
Hield, considering the influence he had in the first few games, has fallen short recently. With an average of 21.1 points per game throughout the first eight games, he made the MVP list. But as the games went on, the numbers kept declining. With a single high score of 24 points, the star has averaged 10.4 points per game in December alone.
In addition to Hield’s subpar play, the Warriors also had to contend with a persistent error: turnovers. The team now has the 17th-highest number of turnovers allowed this season. When playing the Suns, the Dubs committed 11 turnovers. Thankfully, that was two fewer turnovers than the Suns. Thus, with a narrow victory of 109-105, the club managed to defeat the Valley side at home.
Draymond Green opens up on harsh reaction towards Buddy Hield
Draymond Green is probably one of the most experienced players on the Golden State Warriors roster alongside Stephen Curry. During the game, Green sounded off at his new teammate, Buddy Hield which made headlines in the NBA world lately. However, Green provided an honest assessment of his interaction with Hield after the game.
Aside from this, in the game-winning performance, Curry ended with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal. Green also contributed two steals, one block, seven assists, eight rebounds, and sixteen points. The Warriors are now 16-15 in the West and sit in 10th place on the table. Up next, they face the Cleveland Cavaliers on home turf.
