The Baltimore Ravens are flying high after a Christmas Day win last week. Meanwhile, Diontae Johnson is looking to make an impact for a Houston Texans teams desperately looking for receiver help.
Recently, Johnson seemed to take a shot at the way the Ravens do things when asked about his experience in Houston so far since he was added.
More Diontae Johnson drama
“Team first. Everybody is about the team, I’m about the team too. So I’m doing whatever the coach is asking me to do.”
The Ravens suspended Johnson for one game after he refused to play against the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this year. Then, his release followed.
Baltimore wanted to give Johnson snaps in prior games during garbage time. Those could have helped him get more during more important times of games and learn the playbook in Baltimore.
The team was winning, even though he was not involved. Clearly, that upset him, leading to that suspension and eventual release.
These latest comments look fairly funny, all those things considered. Johnson has proven to think a bit more about his personal future, rather than the team, so far during his pro career.
Now, he’s either turned a new leaf with the Texans, or he just made a positive statement about them to try to throw some shade at the Ravens.
