Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill New Year tweet is fueling trade rumors that he may leave for a new team after the season either way. Hill has been no stranger to catching the attention of Miami Dolphin fans leaving them wondering about his future with the team. After an interesting post since the Odell Beckham Jr., Hill could request a trade if the Dolphins don’t make a postseason contention. The Dolphins’ fate will come down to needing help from the Kansas City Chiefs to win their Week 18 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
They need to defeat the New York Jets in their last regular season to punch their ticket to a wild-card matchup against the Buffalo Bills. However, the chances for that happening are slim considering the Chiefs are starting backup quarterback Carson Wentz. This is why Hill said “Happy New Year, especially to the Chiefs” in a tweet that could mean anything. While the assumption is that Hill wants the Chiefs to help the Dolphins’ playoff chances, it may have a deeper meaning as the star receiver is looking for one more playoff run before he retires.
Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the eight-time Pro Bowler became one of the best playmakers in the game today. Since leaving Kansas City, Hill continues to show love to Patrick Mahomes and the offense he was a part of. However, Hill is still one of the best wide receivers possibly in Dolphin history, recording 1,700-plus yards in 2022 and 2023. It should be no shocker if wants to join a new team, especially since posting a rumor about going to the Los Angeles Chargers earlier before that.

Potential Trade Destinations
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers finally have a winning culture since Head Coach Jim Harbaugh and Jesse Minter came into the organization to change things around. Things were off to a rough start at the beginning of the season with a questionable passing game but a solid defensive pass defense that’s kept the team in close matchups. Justin Herbert is finding his rhythm and is establishing a solid pass game with incoming rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey. However, it might not be enough to make a legitimate deep run in the postseason.
Quentin Johnston is looking like his rookie self despite having a few flashes, while Joshua Palmer will become a free agent in March. No one should expect DJ Chark to return to the team after the playoffs but adding a star like Tyreek Hill could finally be the lightning bolt.
Baltimore Ravens
If there’s any team in this league that could bring out the best in Hill, it’s the Baltimore Ravens. The team has two solid receiver options in Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman but they have an aging Nelson Agholor who might not have many years in him. Since waiving Diontae Johnson, the expectation for the Ravens this free agency is to find a solid third option. Perhaps, they could sign Hill on a massive deal to pair with Flowers while Bateman focuses on the slant play routes.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints might as well set themselves to be in a rebuild mode despite denial of that happening. After firing Dennis Allen, it might be worthwhile to sign a star to the team’s offense for Derek Carr to light up the world next season. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed will come back but they need an explosive playmaker to become a legitimate playoff contender. However, Hill might not be in the position to rebuild given he’s aging but at the right price, anything is possible.
