Fans were left confused after New Year’s Eve photos of Taylor Swift recently made their rounds on social media. As it turns out, the photos were taken from last year’s New Year’s festivities when Swift went out partying with her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and their friends.
Apparently, Swift and Kelce went for a low-key celebration this year. According to a new report by Page Six, the couple flew to Kansas City on Monday after spending the weekend in New York City.
“Taylor and Travis spent New Year’s Eve together in Kansas City and shared a kiss as soon as it hit midnight,” Page Six’s source revealed. “It was very romantic.”

Last year, Swift and Kelce were seen partying it up for New Year’s. Several photos of the couple blew up online as they were spotted celebrating with Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes.
Swift and Kelce rang in 2025 quite differently, though. The decision reportedly stemmed from the All-Pro tight end’s work commitments.
According to Page Six’s source, the couple flew back to Kansas City before New Year’s Eve because Kelce had to attend the Chiefs’ practice on Dec. 30 and Jan. 1. The nine-time Pro Bowler reportedly also had to tape an episode of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason Kelce.
Either way, what is clear is that Swift and Kelce were able to welcome the new year together, albeit in their own private way.
The two-time defending Chiefs are in action on Sunday as they play their last regular season game. They will face the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High, as Kelce and Co. look to close out the campaign with a win.
