This season’s NFL MVP race is between two star quarterbacks in the AFC. Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson and Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen are the two front-runners for the MVP title. Every team has a different preference for who they think wants to win MVP.
For NFL analyst and commentator Dan Orlovsky, the MVP this season is Josh Allen. Speaking on “The Dan Patrick Show”, Orlovsky said that he thinks the Bills QB is the MVP over Jackson and any other MVP contender because, according to him, Allen has done more with less.
“I think he (Allen) will (win MVP),” Orlovsky said. “I think he should. I’ve said it for a couple of weeks now. If you want to vote for Lamar, that’s 1000% justified… but I do think because of all of the things I mentioned, Josh is probably the one I lean towards, yes.”
During the Ravens’ final game of the season, the home crowd seemingly let Orlovsky know how they felt. The fans chanted “MVP!” for Lamar, and Orlovsky remarked that those chants might have been directed at him for his comments.
Jackson finished the Ravens’ win over the Browns with 217 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He added 63 yards on the ground as well.
He finished the season as the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 4,000 yards and rush for 900 or more yards. Jackson also has the second-highest QB Rating in the NFL with a 119.6 QBR.
Meanwhile, Allen is coming into Week 18 with 3,731 passing yards and 28 touchdowns. The Bills quarterback also has 531 rushing yards while leading Buffalo to the second seed with a 13-3 record so far.
Both the Ravens and the Bills’ team success this season has heavily contributed to their MVP campaigns.
Other contenders for the MVP award this season are Eagles RB Saquon Barkley, who became the ninth player in NFL history to post a 2,000-yard season, and Bengals QB Joe Burrow, who leads the league in passing yards and touchdowns.
