The tennis world remembers Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray as two great rivals who reached extraordinary heights in tennis history. However, few would have imagined that they would one day form a coach-player partnership.

American tennis legend John McEnroe is eager to see how this new relationship unfolds. The former left-handed player believes that success at the Australian Open could lead to numerous coaching offers for Murray.

Murray is confirmed to be Djokovic’s coach until the end of the Australian Open. The duration of their partnership will likely depend on Djokovic’s performance at the Rod Laver Arena next month.

Djokovic has been without a coach since parting ways with Goran Ivanisevic. The Croatian, known for his powerful serve, is now coaching Elena Rybakina.

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have shared a great but lopsided rivalry at the Australian Open. The Serb and the Scottish legend have faced each other five times at the Rod Laver Arena, with Djokovic emerging victorious on each occasion.

Their first encounter was in the 2011 Australian Open final, where Murray was seeking his first Grand Slam title, and Djokovic his second. The Serb won in straight sets, beginning a decade of dominance.

The second meeting took place in the 2012 Australian Open semifinal. Djokovic won a thrilling five-set battle after Murray led two sets to one but was eventually denied victory by the Serb.

In the 2013 Australian Open final, Murray, who had defeated Djokovic in the 2012 US Open final, sought to capitalize on his psychological edge. However, Djokovic once again asserted his dominance with a four-set victory, securing a hat-trick of Australian Open titles.

The rivalry continued in the 2015 Australian Open final, where Djokovic claimed a four-set win to take his tally to five titles at Melbourne Park. He defeated Murray once more in the 2016 final, securing his sixth Australian Open title and his 11th Grand Slam overall.
