Novak Djokovic failed to deliver a convincing answer to Zheng Qinwen when asked about Andy Murray and the Briton made sure to let the Serb hear it.

On Thursday, the record 24-time Grand Slam champion teamed up with the Chinese tennis star for a charity mixed doubles match versus the newly retired Briton and Victoria Azarenka.

While they were conducting on-court interviews, Zheng asked Djokovic if he had already learned something new from his new coach.

“Uh… yeah,” the 37-year-old responded.

Murray wasn’t that impressed with the response, telling his former rival: “That wasn’t very convincing.”

The former world No. 1 then defended himself by stating that it was “a confidential” thing, saying: “It’s confidential I’m sorry. I cannot share.”

Djokovic jokingly pleaded with Zheng not to target Murray

At one point during the match, the Serbian funnily pleaded with the WTA world No. 5 not to hit or injure his new coach.

“Just don’t hit my coach please. Anything else is allowed,” the 37-year-old said.

Meanwhile, Murray revealed some details about his partnership with Djokovic.

When addressing what led to their collaboration, the former two-time Wimbledon champion admitted that he was excited about the idea of them working together but also confirmed that the Australian Open will serve as a test and only then they will make a definitive move with their partnership.

“I thought it would be a good idea to try it together, and spend some time in the off-season through Australia and see how it goes for both of us, because it’s a little bit different. It’s not the usual kind of set-up,” the former world No. 1 explained.

“So it made sense to trial it and see if it works. And then we said we’d make a more definitive decision after the tournament.”

In the ideal scenario, Djokovic will win the Australian Open so he and Murray won’t have a hard time deciding what to do with their collaboration.
