FRISCO — Micah Parsons will never be the person turned away from voicing his opinion, no matter how brash or unrealistic. His bold Super Bowl Prediction for the 2025 season provides enough evidence for that truth.
Now, the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive star has directed his efforts to a campaign for his team to get him some help in April’s NFL Draft. Parsons continues to urge the Cowboys to draft Abdul Carter out of Penn State.
Carter has become one of the most vaunted players in college football, transitioning from the off-ball linebacker spot to the edge this season. Looking at the styles of the two, there are many similarities to be found.
The most obvious of these being their college and jersey number. Parsons and Carter have both donned the legendary No. 11 at Penn State.
Parsons was in attendance Thursday night at Hard Rock Stadium to watch Carter and the Nittany Lions compete against Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl. His interactions with the prospect not only continued his plea with the Cowboys, but the other 11 teams ahead of them on the draft board.
He took to his X account, writing a message saying, “It’s only right the NFL lets me and Abdul play together!!”
That will be the biggest hurdle for Parsons’ dream selection as Carter is a presumed top 10 pick. Barring a significant drop or Dallas trading up, the Cowboys will not even get the chance to consider adding him to their defense.
Nonetheless, Parsons makes his claims for good reason. A Dallas defensive front bookended with himself and Carter would become one of the more vaunted units across the league.
In the likely scenario where the Cowboys do not end up picking Carter, they will still have to nail their first-round selection as they are in desperate need of younger talent heading into the 2025 season.
Accomplishing that goal would at least satisfy Parsons who wants to build a winner at The Star above all.
