Following a first-round bye, the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans in the AFC divisional round on Jan. 18.
While Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce didn’t exactly play a leading role on offense this season, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is not sweating his performance heading into the playoffs.
“I think it’s just the greats, man. They step up in the playoffs and it’s just higher intensity,” Mahomes told reporters. “The best players and the best leaders step up and make the best plays, and he’s done that, and so I expect the same from him going into these playoffs.”

The 35-year-old All-Pro said the support goes both ways, which is why he attended so many “Eras” tour shows.
Smith told Kelce that the went to two “Eras” shows, calling it “the greatest concert” he’s ever attended. However, the 57-year-old host also commented on the insane ticket prices. He said, “My daughters convinced me take 10 of their friends which cost $2,000 a pop. That’s $20,000… I ain’t got your money, Travis. And I damn sure ain’t have her money!”
Kelce quickly interjected, “That’s re-sale by the way. That’s re-sale,” which immediately turned heads. One woman commented, “Ohhh the comment about the resale tickets got me. That’s a real swiftie right there.”
Another Swiftie posted, “When that man said it was 20k to see Taylor in concert & Travis immediately says ‘That’s resale, by the way, that’s resale’ BYEEE he was not about to let someone accidentally tarnish Taylor’s name or make her look bad. He was onnn that.”
One fan gushed, “‘thats resale btw’ PAPA TRAVVY YOU HAVE BEEN PROMOTEDDDDDDDD.”
Smith also asked Kelce if the “Karma” singer is encouraging him to retire considering football is a violent sport, but the 10-time Pro Bowler said the opposite is true.
“She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” Kelce said. “She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the games and cheering for me so I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”
