Deion Sanders made his feelings known on becoming the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys subtly via social media on Thursday.
Sanders has been in touch with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones regarding the team’s vacant head coaching position. While their conversation was preliminary, the idea of the Colorado skipper making the jump to Dallas appears to be gaining traction.
“Regarding Deion Sanders: I’m being told that he would almost certainly accept if Jerry Jones offers to make him the next Cowboys head coach, that those around him are encouraging him to pursue it and that Jones is enamored with the idea,” veteran Cowboys reporter Ed Werder wrote on X on Thursday.
Amid the swirling rumors, Sanders reposted a clip from the “KG Certified” show featuring Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to his Instagram.

“You have to do that, right?” Garnett remarks in the clip, referring to Sanders being linked to the Cowboys coaching job.
“They need him in the worst way. He’s the only one who could go there,” Pierce responded.
Garnett added, “This is like a player, coming from the culture who helped build the culture. No better situation bro. Deion, we hope you get that boy. Straight up. I’m not even a Cowboys fan. I’m a Deion fan.”
Sanders is not the only candidate for the job. Dallas has set up interviews with former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, Seattle Seahawks coordinator Leslie Frazier and Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
