The Baltimore Ravens are just three days removed from a critical Divisional Round battle against the Buffalo Bills. The winner will stamp their name into the AFC Championship Game against the winner of the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans.
The Ravens are coming off a 28-14 win over their rival Pittsburgh Steelers in Wild Card Weekend. Now, Lamar Jackson and Baltimore take on Josh Allen and Buffalo in a matchup in which they are a slim underdog.
Last weekend, the Ravens were led by superstar running back Derrick Henry, which worked out well as they were without star wide receiver Zay Flowers, who suffered a Week 18 injury against the Cleveland Browns.
On Wednesday, Flowers missed practice with his knee injury. While Ravens John Harbaugh was clear that it wasn’t a season-ending injury — the team might not have Flowers back by the time they play the Bills.
In a recent update provided by Jamison Hensley, Flowers missed a second-straight practice on Thursday, meaning he’s yet to hit the gridiron with his teammates since the injury.
“Pro Bowl WR Zay Flowers is the only Ravens player not practicing Thursday,” Hensley reported. “Flowers hasn’t practiced since injuring his knee in the regular season finale 12 days ago. Ravens play at Bills in a divisional round game Sunday.”
It seems increasingly more likely Baltimore will be without its 1,000 receiving yards leading receiver in a crucial matchup against the Bills.
In playing such a high-profile matchup, the Ravens would have certainly loved to have gotten Flowers back onto the field in some capacity this week, but it’s now a shot in the dark for him to play in Buffalo.
