Cowboys head coach rumor: Brian Schottenheimer may soon get an offer

It is starting to REALLY seem like Brian Schottenheimer has a chance to be the next Dallas Cowboys head coach.

Earlier today news dropped that the Dallas Cowboys were set to interview offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for their head coach vacancy. Based on a recent report from Shan Shariff of 105.3 The Fan, it sounded like the interview happened and went very well.

Shortly after Shariff’s mention it was noted that the interview did in fact happen on Tuesday.

Schottenheimer, a well respected offensive mind in the Cowboys organization has served as the teams offensive coordinator over the last two years. The son of long-time NFL coach Marty Schottenheimer, he has yet to have a head coaching job in the NFL, but has been in the league since 2006.

Schottenheimer has been the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets (2006-2012), St. Louis Rams (2012-2015), and the Seattle Seahawks (2018-2021).

It is still to be determined if Schottenheimer will get the head coaching job, but with him currently the betting favorite and Shan Shariff’s report, it sounds like he is in the lead to be announced as the Dallas Cowboys new head coach.
