Could Tyreek Hill be on the move to a division rival?
The New England Patriots have seemingly found their quarterback of the future in Drake Maye, so now, they need to find him a stud wide receiver.
As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for yet another AFC Championship Game, one former player of the team made waves following the final game of the regular season.
Following the Miami Dolphins’ Week 18 loss to the New York Jets, Tyreek Hill decided he wanted out from the franchise.
“It was great playing (in Miami), but at the end of the day, bro, I got to do what’s best for my career, Hill said. “I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”
Despite his agent clearing the air, many teams have come up as a possible suitor to get him.
One NFL executive believes he could be suiting up for the New England Patriots in 2025.
“The Patriots are desperate. They need a guy, that alpha that can be friendly for Drake Maye,” someone in personnel for an NFC team said in a Tuesday piece by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“And there’s a higher chance of the draft picks [Miami would receive in a trade] being higher than with a contender.”
It should be noted that Dolphins general manager Chris Grier told reporters he met with Tyreek Hill and made it clear that the receiver never asked for a trade.
Head coach Mike McDaniel also informed that he met with the veteran wideout and came away thinking he accepted his accountability when it was “unacceptable to leave a game and won’t be tolerated in the future.”
That doesn’t mean that the New England Patriots couldn’t present a package to change the minds of the Dolphins.
Tyreek Hill Could Flourish With The New England Patriots
A Miami Dolphins divorce with Tyreek Hill could be coming this offseason after the receiver quit on the team during the final game of the year.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, at least one NFL executive thinks a potential deal would send him to the New England Patriots.
Hill had a down year for his standards in 2024, registering 81 catches for 959 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games.
His numbers coincide with missed games from Tua Tagovailoa.
Hill could very well flourish in New England since Drake Maye likely won’t have the injury history that Tua has.
