BREAKING: Red Sox Tabbed ‘Likely Landing Spot’ For $200 Million Franchise-Changing Star

houston Astros infielder Alex Bregman has yet to sign in free agency despite a lot of reported interest. At this point, teams like the New York Yankees and the Astros are reportedly out of the race to bring Bregman in.

Other than that, there are plenty of teams left vying for the franchise-altering star.

Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller recently listed the Boston Red Sox as one of the “likeliest landing spots” for the Astros’ infielder. With Bregman reportedly looking for a contract worth nearly $200 million, Boston may have to pay up to acquire the star.

“Of the teams that have been reportedly in the hunt, Detroit has arguably the greatest need for Bregman’s glove and his right-handed bat. But if they’re not willing to meet his contract demands, maybe he falls to the Mets, Red Sox, or Blue Jays and their much larger budgets,” Miller wrote. “(Toronto is least likely of that trio after recently landing Anthony Santander and pushing its payroll to or even beyond the luxury-tax threshold, but it could still happen.) If he’s willing to move to second base, Boston is probably the best non-Detroit bet.”

The Red Sox reportedly had a bid worth at least $700 million to acquire Juan Soto, so money won’t be an issue in the Bregman sweepstakes. Boston has the money to spend.

Acquiring Bregman would push the Red Sox in the right direction as a franchise. The versatile infielder could play anywhere across the infield from second base to shortstop to third base.

After acquiring Garrett Crochet, Walker Buehler, and a few others, adding Bregman would be a great next addition for the Red Sox.
