The Kansas City Chiefs are set to host the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday for the AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs are two wins away from completing a Super Bowl three-peat.

The Chiefs have gotten the better of the Bills during the playoffs in their three previous meetings in the 2020s. Buffalo’s last win over Kansas City in the playoffs came in a 30-13 contest on Jan. 23. 1994.

On Saturday, the league handed a distraction before the contest to two Chiefs players for actions during Kansas City’s 23-14 win over the Houston Texans in the divisional round.

Per Aaron Wison of KPRC, Chiefs safety Justin Reid was fined $14,069 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

“Chiefs Justin Reid was fined $14,069 for unsportsmanlike conduct (violent gesture) in fourth quarter of divisional round win over Texans the team that drafted him,” Wilson posted on X.

 

The league also fined safety Bryan Cook $8,443 for using a hip drop tackle. Officials on the field missed the illegal hit.

“Chiefs Bryan Cook was fined $8,443 for illegal hip drop tackle that wasn’t penalized for his tackle on Texans tight end Dalton Schultz in AFC divisional round game,” Wilson posted to X.

“Chief players would pay that fine all day to keep opposing teams from extending plays,” posted another.
