The Amazon rainforest isn’t a playground; it’s a coliseum where nature tests the bold and devours the careless. On October 29, 2025, it threw down the gauntlet to one of its most daring challengers: Coyote Peterson, the 44-year-old Ohio-born wildlife warrior whose unyielding curiosity has turned Brave Wilderness into a YouTube empire. With over 21 million subscribers, Coyote – real name Nathaniel Peterson – isn’t just a host; he’s a phenomenon. Born on September 1, 1981, in the rolling hills of Newbury, Ohio, he grew up chasing fireflies and dodging black widow spiders in his backyard, igniting a lifelong obsession with the untamed. Self-taught and unapologetically reckless, Coyote launched Brave Wilderness in 2014, transforming shaky smartphone clips of tarantula hunts into Emmy-winning series like Breaking Trail (scooping a 2015 Outstanding Youth/Teen Program award) and Dragon Tails. His Animal Planet gig, Coyote Peterson: Brave the Wild, debuted in 2019, blending high-stakes encounters with conservation pleas that have educated millions on everything from venomous jellyfish stings to grizzly bear charges.
