BREAKING: Boston Red Sox Land 21 Home Run Slugger for Two Prospects in Trade Proposal

The Boston Red Sox have been aggressive this winter, but there’s still a need for a few more pieces. On both sides of the baseball, the Red Sox could improve if they’re willing to spend money or trade prospects.

Any bat would be a step in the right direction, with the infield being the most significant need.

However, Boston is in a position where they can’t worry too much about what position a player plays. If said player would be an addition to the lineup, the Red Sox should look to make it happen.

In a proposed trade from Zach Pressnell of FanSided, they’d accomplish just that. Pressnell proposed a trade that would send Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki and cash considerations to Boston for Jhostynxon Garcia and Nazzan Zanetello, two top 15 prospects in the Red Sox system, according to most publications.

“Suzuki would be a huge addition for the Red Sox, though they don’t desperately need outfielders. Adding a slugger like the righty would be a much-needed addition of power in Boston’s lineup,” Pressnell wrote.

Suzuki doesn’t hit free agency until 2028 and would be an upgrade offensively. However, defensively, he isn’t great on that side of the baseball.

Adding a hitter coming off a .283/.366/.482 season with 21 home runs and a 138 OPS+ would be intriguing if they could make it work defensively.
