“BREAKING: Yankees Could Swoop In to Snatch Dodgers Fan Favorite!”

As the 2025 MLB season nears, Kiké Hernández remains a free agent, and the market for versatile infielders is thinning fast.

While Hernández played a key role in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2024 World Series victory, his future remains uncertain. With the New York Yankees reportedly considering him as a low-cost infield option, could the Dodgers lose one of their most beloved utility players?

Hernández, 33, has long been valued for his defensive flexibility and clutch postseason performances. In 2024, he posted a .229/.281/.373 slash line with 12 home runs and 42 RBIs while playing third base, shortstop, second base, first base, and the outfield.

His ability to move around the field and provide depth made him a key piece for the Dodgers last season.

Now, the Yankees are circling. With few viable infielders left in free agency, New York may see Hernández as a cost-effective option to reinforce their depth.

The Yankees have made significant signings, adding Max Fried and Paul Goldschmidt, but still need versatile infield help. Hernández’s postseason experience and ability to handle the New York spotlight could make him an attractive fit in the Bronx.

Letting Hernández walk could be a tough pill for the Dodgers. While Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor can fill utility roles, Hernández’s energy and clubhouse presence was invaluable during their championship run.

If Los Angeles wants to keep their championship core intact, bringing him back on a short-term deal could be worth considering.

While Hernández’s free agency remains unresolved, the Yankees’ growing interest could force the Dodgers to decide soon—will they let him walk, or will they bring back one of their most beloved postseason heroes?
