“BREAKING: Two-Time Dodgers All-Star Still Unsigned Amid Bregman & Alonso Uncertainty!”

The offseason has been exciting around Major League Baseball, but multiple players on the free agent market still don’t have a home.

They aren’t just some no-name players either, as Alex BregmanPete Alonso, and many worthy veterans around the league, even ones who have played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, remain available.

Among the players who fit the Dodger’s description includes Justin Turner.

Turner is past his glory days, but to say he isn’t a valuable option for a decent team would be unfair.

All the two-time All-Star has done throughout his career is swing it with the best of them, which is evident by his career 124 OPS+. Even in 2024, playing for the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners at 39 years old, he posted a 114 OPS+ in 460 at-bats.

Turner would be a valuable piece to many lineups around the league, just like Los Angeles learned for nearly a decade.

He’s also a valued veteran who other players around the league respect. Even if he’s a clubhouse guy at this stage of his career and gets at-bats against left-handers, he should find a team.

However, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, his market is on hold due to Alonso and Bregman, making things difficult.

“A number of free-agent hitters are on hold while waiting for Alonso and Bregman to make their decisions. Among them: Justin Turner, Yoan Moncada, Randal Grichuk and Ty France. The available hitters also include Harrison Bader, Mark Canha, David Peralta, Tommy Pham and Anthony Rizzo,” Rosenthal wrote.

If a team doesn’t sign either of the top two players available at this stage of the winter, they could look at Turner to fill in their lineup.

He isn’t what Alonso and Bregman are, but expect him to land a deal once they do.
