REVEALED: Insider Leaks Boston Red Sox’s Offer to Alex Bregman!

The Boston Red Sox are clearly interested in signing Alex Bregman, but until they give him what he’s looking for, they shouldn’t expect to get a deal done.

Bregman, one of the better players in baseball, would be an excellent addition. However, already 30 years old and coming off one of the worst showings of his career, the last thing Boston wants to do is overpay for him.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the six-year deal Bregman was seeking is still what he wants. Nightengale also added that the Red Sox have made an offer of “at least four years” to the two-time All-Star.

“There’s also no sign that Bregman would dramatically lower his asking price when he already has at least one six-year offer on the table.

“The Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros have all made offers of at least four years to Bregman, but no one has been willing to meet his asking price,” Nightengale wrote.

Four and six years is a sizeable difference with a player like Bregman, who could benefit from playing at Fenway.

It’ll all come down to what the Red Sox believe is the right thing to do. If they’re firm on their offer, raising it could be possible, but only if they feel comfortable.

Yes, they need a right-handed bat, but overpaying often doesn’t end well, as they’ve seen with Trevor Story and others.
