Twenty-one years after making his Challenger debut on those courts, Novak Djokovic is back in Belgrade’s tennis club Gemax. The 24-time Major winner is back on the practice court for the first time after experiencing a hamstring injury in Melbourne.
Novak left the setback behind following treatments in his hometown, and we should see him compete next week! Djokovic should travel to Doha in the upcoming days, preparing to battle at the ATP 500 event alongside Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
The 37-year-old is motivated to return at his best and chase the milestone 100th ATP title of his incredible career.
Djokovic completed the game of tennis at last year’s Olympic Games in Paris. The legend added the last notable missing title to his collection and ended the season following the Shanghai Masters final. Novak started the 2025 season in Brisbane.
He fell to Reilly Opelka and turned his focus on the Australian Open, seeking his 25th Major title. The ten-time winner did not play at his best against two young guns in the opening two rounds. However, he beat them in four sets and advanced.

Novak raised his level at his beloved Rod Laver Arena in rounds three and four against seeded rivals. Djokovic toppled Tomas Machac and Jiri Lehecka in straight sets to book a place in the quarter-final against his great rival, Carlos Alcaraz.
The veteran ousted the young gun in four sets after three hours and 37 minutes. However, Novak suffered a hamstring injury in the first set. He required a medical timeout in the closing stages and struggled in the next one as well.

However, Djokovic claimed the second set and felt better when medication started to work in the third and fourth. Thus, he earned a notable victory and became the third-oldest player with a top-3 win at Majors! Novak did not train for two days ahead of his 50th Major semi-final.
He preserved his troubled left leg for Friday’s clash against Alexander Zverev but could not endure the effort! Djokovic gave everything against world no. 2 in the opening set, losing it 7-6 after 80 minutes. Novak missed a volley in the last point.

The ten-time champion retired due to increased pain, failing to finish a match at Majors for the first time since 2019. Before leaving Melbourne, Djokovic took an MRI that confirmed the torn hamstring. Novak returned to Belgrade and started his treatment.
Djokovic and his team did everything to fix the rapture in his leg, including treatments and therapies. His body responded nicely, and Novak should travel to Doha in the upcoming days.
