The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl presented a conflicting scene for ESPN analyst Jason Kelce.
Before joining ESPN as an NFL analyst, Jason Kelce was one of the most prominent players on the Eagles, playing 13 years in Philadelphia.
While he has deep connections to the Eagles, the former NFL star also witnessed his brother, Travis Kelce, playing in Super Bowl LIX.
The Chiefs tight end wound up leaving home with a 40-22 loss, while Philadelphia hoisted the Lombardi Trophy. The Eagles picked up the vengeful victory after losing to the Chiefs 38-35 just two years ago in Super Bowl LVII.
Following the game, Jason Kelce took to social media, sharing an emotional reflection about the Super Bowl LIX outcome.
“That game was odd for me to watch, if I’m being completely honest,” Jason Kelce said. “I am very proud for Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni, and this entire team. As for my brother, there isn’t a person I love or care about more. It has been tough to process these feelings, of course I feel for him and am always rooting for him.”
Following the emotional message from Jason Kelce, which ESPN reported, some fans took to social media to share their reactions.
“He has 3 rings already he’ll be just fine,” said one fan.
“Bro shouldn’t have retired,” said another fan.
“I feel so bad for him he only has 3 rings,” mentioned one fan.
“You’re not playing anymore. Should have stood by your brother first,” commented one fan.
“Travis is overrated,” said one fan.
“His brother has 3 rings, he’ll survive. He should be out celebrating with his former teammates rather than feeling conflicted,” said another fan.
Despite the loss for Travis Kelce, he’s established himself as one of the greatest tight ends in the history of the NFL.
In the Super Bowl blowout, Travis Kelce posted 39 yards and four receptions.
Throughout his 12-year NFL career, Travis Kelce has been named a three-time Super Bowl champion, four-time All-Pro and 10-time Pro Bowler.
