Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have led a stellar run with the Kansas City Chiefs over the past several years, but their claim as the next NFL dynasty took a hit on Sunday in New Orleans.
The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Chiefs, 40-22, in every phase of the game, denying Kansas City a record third straight Lombardi Trophy.
During the blowout loss for Kansas City, Mahomes and Kelce were mic’d up. Cameras were able to catch a conversation between the two in the fourth quarter of the game, revealing their emotional exchange.
“Love you brother,” Mahomes said.
Kelce then responded, sharing a kind moment with the Chiefs quarterback: “Love you dog, you know that. I owe you a lot for what you did.”
Upon the release of the video, some fans took to the comments to share their reactions to the exchange between Kelce and Mahomes.
“Oh absolutely not if o don’t watch it it’s not real,” said one fan.
“If he said that he’ll add pressure to him. He want to respect his free will not because he ask him to. But Travis response also says a lot giving him a glimpse of hope that he’ll be back saying he owe him a lot so I don’t see him leaving the team in shambles,” said another fan.
“I think Pat was saying it to the guys that hadn’t experienced a loss in the SB before that needed some encouragement. Trav saying “I owe you a lot for this one.” means he’s coming back right…right?…right???” mentioned one fan.
“I’m reading more in to Reid’s “it’s been an honor” to Spags He knows he’s not coming back,” commented one fan.
“I know a lot of you are new to football, but you’re reading way too much into this lol Pat said “well be back” to Tyreek and then the Chiefs traded him,” said one fan.
“What if he did and we didn’t hear him or our volumes are low,” said another fan.

While Kelce and Mahomes are widely viewed as one of the best duos in NFL history, both struggled to find consistency in the Super Bowl.
Kelce finished the blowout loss with four receptions and 39 yards. Mahomes had just 33 passing yards and two interceptions in the first half but finished the game with 257 yards and three second-half touchdowns.
