As Travis Kelce continues to mull over his NFL future, the Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly eyeing a new role for him in 2025 — should he choose to come back.
According to The Athletic’s Nate Taylor, the team wants him to return for one more season but he would have to be OK with not being the focal point of the offense and playing more of a supportive role to the Chiefs’ other weapons.
That didn’t seem to sit well with the Chiefs Kingdom who made their feelings very clear on the subject:
“Yeah, they don’t deserve you,” a fan tagged Kelce. “You will forever the goat TE in my heart … You gave everything for that team you have nothing else to prove. Enjoy your life and be happy, you have so many great opportunities coming your way.”
“His post-NFL future seems more interesting right now than keep playing for the Chiefs,” another said. “For less effort, he could make more money in Hollywood. Go and enjoy life outside of this [expletive], my goat!”
“Just so we are clear, just because he could take a pay cut doesn’t mean he should,” a user commented. “12 years and he’s always been a team friendly guy, when he was putting up numbers bigger then most WR he stayed with KC and took less money, some of yall being very brave and disrespectful.”
“He quite literally did this season and got disrespect from not only media, but from the fans themself and other player too,” another person pointed out.
“What the heck is this [expletive]?” another user asked. “He already was that this season. If that’s the case retire and enjoy life goat.”
“So basically please continue being the scapegoat on which everyone can blame our problems.”
“The love and loyalty he showed to Kansas City Chiefs on and off the field make me so proud with that being said… I see how easy for a lot of you to throw him under the bus,” a KC native posted. “The team don’t deserve 1 more year of his brilliantly beautiful life.”

Travis certainly has a lot to think about over the next few months as he weighs his options.
Is he OK with Super Bowl 59 being the last game he ever plays? Or does he come back for Kansas City’s revenge tour in (potentially) a lesser role?
