The Kansas City Chiefs capped off the season with a disappointing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, posting a 17-3 record to finish the season.
Kansas City entered the Super Bowl looking to win its third straight, but it was ultimately dominated 40-22 in the final game of the season.
Following a disappointing end to the Chiefs’ season, Jason Kelce spoke about Kansas City’s struggles in the Super Bowl.
The former Eagles star attended the matchup in New Orleans and witnessed his former team hoist the Lombardi Trophy. Jason Kelce also saw his brother, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, suffer a brutal loss.

While Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has received plenty of criticism for Kansas City’s fallout on the offensive end, Jason Kelce believes the attention should be directed toward the Eagles‘ game plan and personnel.
“If they’re getting home with four, it’s going to be hard,” Jason Kelce said. “They were so dominant up front—Philadelphia—in that game. You can go to boots and play action to try and throw them off their pass rush, but when you’re not successful on first or second down and getting into conducive situations on third down, it will be really hard.”
The former Eagles star also mentioned that Reid couldn’t have done much in terms of major changes to adjust to Philadelphia’s defensive line.
“I think there are always things you look back on that could have been done better,” he added. “I don’t know if Andy could have done much, to be honest with you. I think that was a team that very evidently needs to improve that position this offseason.”
After the Chiefs’ loss, some fans took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with Andy Reid’s coaching.

The Chiefs finished the Super Bowl with 275 yards and 12 first downs, completing 3-of-12 third-down attempts.
They also gave up seven penalties on the night with 75 yards in favor of Philadelphia.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes ended the game with 257 yards and three touchdowns. He also posted two interceptions and a fumble, helping put the Eagles in prime scoring position.
During the matchup, Mahomes was sacked six times, one of which led to a forced fumble.
Despite all of the pressure, the Eagles didn’t blitz a single time in the matchup, playing most of the game with a four-man rush.
