Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is being accused of some nasty work. And fans are freaking out after realizing it must be true.
“CHIEFS QB PATRICK MAHOMES HAD NOT WASHED HIS RED UNDERWEAR IN TWO MONTHS NOW & HE WEARS THE PAIR EVERY SUNDAY,” MLFootball posted to Twitter after the realization dawned on the back of the Chiefs’ first loss of the season.
“Mahomes does not wash this pair unless Kansas City loses… 10 games this season he wore them.”
As you might imagine, the comments were not having any of that.
“no wonder his wife always looks pissed,” another wrote.
“He needed that fresh restart!” said a third.
“The skids must’ve been diabolical,” a fourth suggested.
“Idc bout superstition in this case that’s nasty work,” said another.
“Nah that’s foul idc how much you winning,” a user pointed out.
Patrick Mahomes Confirmed This Himself
Patrick Mahomes did admit he doesn’t wash his underwear as long as the Chiefs are winning.
Chad Henne, a former teammate, spilled the beans on him before he confirmed the superstition on ‘ManningCast’ a little over a year ago.
The QB revealed having started this in his first season after his wife gave him the underwear as a gift. He explained he only wears them on game days but doesn’t wash them if KC’s on a winning streak.
“As long as we’re winning football games, I’ll keep the superstition going,” he noted.
Now, here’s another reason to love the fact that the Chiefs have finally been stopped after going nine games unbeaten.
