Frustration! It appears that the entire Cowboys squad has it right now. With three wins and seven losses, the team is losing their minds. With key player Dak Prescott sidelined, the team’s spine is hurt. And with their QB1 out, the focus is on wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who is also dealing with injuries. Lamb is currently trusted by the team’s offense, but he appears to be frustrated as well.
The wide receiver believes that every team is planning to embarrass his team. The Cowboys cannot perform properly due to not having their full power and the odds are currently stacked against them. Cee Dee Lamb thinks “everybody is looking to embarrass” the Dallas team. The reason being: “They have the opportunity, and when they do, they try to put us out.” Per the WR, their success over the last three regular seasons is “starting to bite” the team.
This was not all; as the WR further emphasized that the team urgently needed to come together. Lamb believes that the Cowboys require this type of approach. With this, the players will not consider individual performance and will focus more on the team. “We’ve got to find ways to gel together, to play together, and finish this thing out… Can’t be selfish in a time like this. Everybody’s hurting. Everybody’s feeling bad about it.”
Lamb’s statement regarding ‘altering locker rooms’ mindset‘ could have been a hint. But Jerry Jones, the team’s owner, has already disputed said hint.
CeeDee Lamb may have hinted at the firing of Mike McCarthy
Mike McCarthy’s heart must have been racing as the Cowboys lost to the Titans. The HC’s termination rumors are at an all-time high, and with the franchise underperforming, they are intensifying. However, it appears that the owner, Jerry Jones, is not looking forward to firing the HC. When asked about it, he stated that this decision requires careful consideration and should not be made quickly.
Jones stated, “I worry a lot about execution. I worry a lot about communication in the (offensive) line. Also about having two people in the same spot on routes. I worry a lot about all that stuff. But are guys giving the effort out? (No.) You don’t need to worry about anybody in that locker room giving everything they got and more.”
CeeDee Lamb’s statement directly points out the team’s locker room chemistry and mentality, which is heavily determined by the head coach. Mike McCarthy may be held accountable if the players are focused on their individual performance. However, because the WR made no specific statements, none of this can be properly claimed.
Only time will tell what the Cowboys will do in the future to come back from their losing scenario. But it seems McCarthy is going to ride this season with the team, if Jerry Jones’ words are anything to go by.
