Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is 35 years old and many are wondering if he is going to retire this offseason or not. It looked as if Kelce had lost a step on his game over the past couple of seasons.

Last season, the former Cincinnati Bearcats player caught 97 passes for 823 yards receiving and three touchdowns, along with averaging 8.5 yards per reception. Travis Kelce has been to five Super Bowls with Kansas City and has won three titles. Many wondered if he would be finished in the NFL, especially because of his relationship with Taylor Swift.
Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach Talks About Travis Kelce Potentially Returning Next Year

For the people who wanted Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift to leave the NFL, well they are not going to get their wish for now. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach mentioned at the NFL Draft Combine that Kelce is “fired up” about entering the final year of his contract and potentially returning to the Chiefs for the 2025 NFL season.
Veach also added:
“We left it as, he’d be back and we’re excited to get him back and get him going.”
This is a very interesting surprise. Many thought that Kelce would just retire after 2024, but it appears as if he wants to give the 2025 season another shot. However, it feels like he has nothing to prove left in his NFL career.

When you take half of the plays off as a tight end due to inability to run routes or block it’s easy to feel like he can still go

Although Travis Kelce didn’t play as well last season, he is still one of the best TEs in the league.

Many people are fatigued with seeing the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl. For people who think that Travis Kelce will be good next year since he is returning, they may be in for a pleasant surprise. Even with Kelce returning, the Chiefs may want to draft a tight end at some point in the 2025 NFL Draft to think about life after Kelce.
