Jonnu Smith wants the Miami Dolphins to wear their throwback uniforms every week.
The team’s Pro Bowl tight end said in an interview with Barstool that he’s a big fan of the Dolphins’ old uniforms and he’d love it if they became permanent.
“Why don’t we wear them all the time?” Smith asks in the video. “I don’t know who I need to tell this to upstairs, but we gotta wear the throwbacks all the time.”
Specifically, Smith said he likes the all-white throwbacks that the Dolphins wore on Thanksgiving in a road game against the Green Bay Packers.
In 2013, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross spearheaded a rebrand of the Dolphins with a new logo and uniforms. But more than a decade in the new look hasn’t warmed Miami fans up to the change. The throwbacks remain very popular with the majority of the Dolphins faithful and there are annual calls for the team to switch back to its old look.
