Chamblee High School in Georgia announced on Monday that Reed will serve as the school’s new offensive coordinator. Reed’s son, Ed Reed III, is a player for Chamblee and will be a senior in the upcoming season.
Reed expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to support the Chamblee community and impart his knowledge of the game to the football team.
“I appreciate all the support I’ve received, and although I had other coaching opportunities at different levels, I couldn’t pass up the chance to coach my son,” Reed stated. During his 12-season NFL career, Reed spent 11 years with the Baltimore Ravens, earning nine Pro Bowl selections and the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2004.
Reed’s inaugural coaching role began in 2016 when he joined the Buffalo Bills as an assistant defensive backs coach. He has previously assisted Chamblee’s coaching staff, but now he returns in an official capacity.
