Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ devastating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, tight end Travis Kelce didn’t mince words about his lackluster performance.
“As you see yourself or not feel yourself have the success that you once used to have, it’s a tough pill to swallow,” the 35-year-old All-Pro said on “New Heights” just three days after the 40-22 blowout in New Orleans.
“And then on top of that, to not be there in the biggest moments, knowing your team’s counting on you. It’s just a tough reality.” While taking time to ponder possible retirement, Travis and his older brother, Jason Kelce, announced their podcast was taking a hiatus.
While it seemed like sad news was on the horizon, the show’s break didn’t last long and last week, Travis personally confirmed his decision to return and play for the 2025 NFL season.

“New Heights” posted on Feb. 27, “From the desk of @tkelce: ITS TIME FOR YEAR 13 Full breakdown on next week’s episode!!!” — And that episode drops on March 5.
On the evening before the highly-anticipated show’s premiere, Travis and Jason announced they recorded this week’s podcast in-person. During football season, filming an episode together in the same room is near impossible with Travis based in Kansas City and Jason, an analyst on ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown,” living in Philadelphia.
“Happy In-Person New Heights Eve to all who celebrate,” the show’s official account posted on Tuesday.
Fans strongly reacted to the show’s surprise news. One woman replied, “In person episodes are some of my favorite!” Another X user wrote, “In-person episode 👏🏻🎉. Also, what in the name of Benjamin Button is going on here? Why does he look younger? Happiness looks good on Travis.”
Looks like the extended break and reported vacation with his girlfriend Taylor Swift, did wonders for the 10-time Pro Bowler, as numerous fans commented on Kelce’s refreshed look. One person wrote, “he looks so young, off season treating him well!” Another fan commented, “Happiness looks so good on Trav!!!!! He’s [expletive] glowing!!!
