SHOCKING TWIST: Dodgers Could Reignite Nolan Arenado Pursuit After Hyeseong Kim Struggles!

The St. Louis Cardinals have reportedly been trying to trade Nolan Arenado this offseason. This decision comes after the Cardinals seemingly entered a rebuild to begin the winter.

Due to Arenado’s no-trade clause, it’s been difficult for St. Louis to find a suitor. The only teams he reportedly cleared a trade to are the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, and New York Mets.

The Mets, Red Sox, Phillies, Padres, and Dodgers all have third basemen at this point and a deal to the Angels feels unlikely. So, it seems like the veteran will stick in St. Louis for the time being.

But the Dodgers could look to enter the Arenado sweepstakes once again if everything doesn’t go according to plan.

Earlier this offseason, the Dodgers added Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim and traded Gavin Lux to the Cincinnati Reds. With Max Muncy at third base and Kim rotating in the infield, it seemed like there was no place for Arenado.

But now Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed he isn’t sure if Kim will land in the big leagues to begin the season. It doesn’t seem like the Dodgers are confident he will translate to the big leagues right from the start, despite a recent spring training home run.

Los Angeles’ infield depth may not be as solid as it once believed. With St. Louis desperately looking for a suitor for Arenado, the Dodgers might be able to land him for relatively cheap. If Kim struggles to begin the season, the Dodgers could spin back around and re-enter the Arenado sweepstakes.
