The Dallas Cowboys are in search for wide receiver depth this offseason via either free agency, the NFL Draft, or both.
But they may have just had one fall in their lap … via un-retirement?

Michael Gallup, a former third-round pick in 2018, retired last offseason after being released by Dallas.
He has announced he wants to make a return to football, per his agent Kevin Robinson.
Gallup was picked up by the Las Vegas Raiders, but did not suit up in the 2024 season after announcing his retirement. He has since been on Las Vegas’ “reserve/retired” list.
The Raiders have released him from that list, making him an eligible free agent.
Gallup played six seasons with the Cowboys from 2018-23.
In his most recent season, the Colorado State product registered 418 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the only season in his career where he played all 17 regular season games.
Despite an injury history that includes a torn ACL in 2021, Gallup, 29, aims to make an NFL comeback … and his old team might be worth talking to.
Gallup was released by Dallas in 2023 to free up cap space after three straight seasons of less than 500 receiving yards.
Gallup’s un-retirement comes in a relatively opportune time for the Cowboys, who have not yet made any external free agency moves.
The stars may be aligning for the Cowboys to offer a homecoming to the veteran receiver.
