Talk about making a grand entrance: Rafael Nadal has just joined TikTok, and his first video is already doing numbers.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion hasn’t slowed down one bit during his retirement from professional tennis. In between inaugurating a new hotel in the Caribbean and playing rounds of golf, Nadal found time to give the video sharing site a spin.

Set to the tune of the Pink Panther theme song, Nadal’s first video features him walking onto a tennis court carrying his signature Babolat equipment bags. But rather than reach for a racquet, the Spaniard takes out a ring light—a staple TikTok content creator accessory—and sets up a selfie shot, lining up his markers just so. The video concludes with Nadal signing the camera lens—a classic tennis player move—and sending a message to users: “Hola TikTok!”

Shared on Friday under the handle @RafaelNadal, the video has already racked up more than 3.5 million views in less than 24 hours.

Nadal joins the likes of Coco Gauff, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and more on the platform, which has also helped launch tennis personalities like content creator Morgan Riddle and rising star Zizou Bergs.

The 38-year-old recently joined Andy Roddick on his podcast *Served*, and opened up about his hectic life in retirement. The pair were chatting in the Dominican Republic, where Nadal was inaugurating Zel Punta Cana, his first hotel in the Americas.

“Since I retired, it was not as much time off as I was supposed to have!” Nadal said laughing.

“But it’s normal, when you have a big change in your life you need to organize the new life… To organize, and to discover a little bit what I want to be in this next step of my life…

“I remember, even when you have a few free days off (on tour), I wanted to do all these things that I wasn’t able to do. So the time was precious. Now, it’s different… It gives me the feeling that I can enjoy more what I’m doing.”

The next step in Nadal’s life seems to include creating content for TikTok, and clearly tennis fans are here for it: His new profile has already amassed 180,000 followers, and counting.
