Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Parris Campbell is staying in the NFC East but will now wear the star of a bitter rival after agreeing to terms with the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Former Eagles free-agent WR Parris Campbell reached agreement today on a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys, per source,” Schefter reported Saturday. “The Cowboys become the third NFC East team for which Campbell has played.”
Campbell, 27, won a Super Bowl championship with Philadelphia last season, though his on-field contributions were limited. The veteran receiver appeared in five games during the 2024 regular season, recording six catches for 30 yards and one touchdown.
His time with Philadelphia was marked by roster fluctuations, as he was initially signed before the 2024 campaign, then released and later re-signed to the practice squad before being elevated for game action.
This latest move continues Campbell’s tour of the NFC East, having previously played for the New York Giants in 2023 before joining Philadelphia in 2024. The Cowboys will be his fourth NFL team in as many seasons, following a four-year stint with the Indianapolis Colts, who selected him in the second round (No. 59 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Ohio State.
Campbell’s most productive NFL season came in 2022 with Indianapolis, when he caught 63 passes for 623 yards and three touchdowns as the team’s second-leading receiver.
At Ohio State, Campbell was part of the Buckeyes’ 2014-15 national championship team, though he redshirted that season. He eventually blossomed into a first-team All-Big Ten performer as a senior in 2018, when he caught 90 passes for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns.
