The 2023 Miami Dolphins was one of the best shows in the NFL, thanks to head coach Mike McDaniel’s offense with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
By the end of the 2024 season, Tagovailoa was injured, the offensive line was inefficient once again and Hill was unhappy. He stated after the end of the regular season finale that he didn’t want to be playing for the Dolphins anymore.
The emotions might have calmed down, but the damage might have been done to some. Hill is coming off his least productive season in the league since 2019; when he only played in 12 games. He caught 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns in a season where he had an injured Tagovailoa and a healthy Skyler Thompson and Tyler Huntley.
The Dolphins might be open to trading eight-time Pro-Bowler to get some great value for the possibly disgruntled star. That is the thought pattern behind some media outlets, including TWSN’s Marissa Myers where a team like the Chicago Bears could take the trade opportunity.
After a rough start to the season, the Bears saw some greatness in their rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. Williams had some deep-threat receivers in Rome Odunze, D.J. Moore, and Kennan Allen. The biggest problem was the offensive line’s incomplete inefficiencies. The Bears finished last season with the 31st-ranked passing.
This off-season, the Bears hired former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their head coach. They also brought in multiple high-volume offensive linemen through trade and free agency. Chicago can cap off a stellar off-season by trading for Hill as Myers indicates.
The Dolphins might be letting Hill go in a trade, but they would likely want a high draft pick, maybe the Bears’ No. 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
