Nick Kyrgios has responded to Novak Djokovic after the 24-time Major winner made a public request to link up in the future. Kyrgios and Djokovic spent years teasing a potential doubles partnership after facing off in the 2022 Wimbledon final, and they finally joined forces at the Brisbane International earlier this year.

Djokovic is already keen to get back on court with the Aussie and extended an invitation for Kyrgios to join him at his home tournament in Belgrade at the end of the season. And the 29-year-old has wasted no time in giving Djokovic his answer.

Djokovic and Kyrgios struck up an unlikely friendship when the former world No. 13 became one of the only players to publicly defend Djokovic during his ordeal ahead of the 2022 Australian Open, when he was kept in a detention hotel and ultimately deported from the country on the eve of the tournament.

After they faced off in the Wimbledon final that summer, the Serb claimed their relationship was “officially a bromance”.

The rivals have since spent years planning to play doubles together and they finally made it happen in January.

Taking a wildcard into the ATP 250 in Brisbane, Djokovic and Kyrgios won one match together before losing to No. 1 seeds Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus. And Djokovic is already setting his sights on their next link-up.

“I do really wish that we play another time [in] doubles,” the 37-year-old recently told Tennis Majors.

“Later on this year we have a tournament in Belgrade, I’m planning to play it. I don’t know if he’s planning to come, so maybe, yeah, maybe we should slam it there.”

Kyrgios has already responded to the world No. 5’s request, agreeing to team up again in Serbia.

“I’m in partner,” the former world No. 13 wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

For now, both men will be focused on their singles campaigns at the Miami Open. Kyrgios beat qualifier Mackenzie McDonald in the first round to earn his first singles win since October 2022.

The wildcard will now take on No. 22 seed Karen Khachanov. Meanwhile, fourth-seed Djokovic will begin his campaign against another Australian, Rinky Hijikata, on Friday.

Djokovic is competing in the Miami Open for the first time since 2019, when he reached the fourth round.
